Borough Council supports Woking Scouts
Woking
Borough Council has offered it's full support to the Woking Contingent. In a
special grant from the Woking Youth's Sports and Arts Fund 2000, former Mayor of Woking, Councilor
Ian Eastwood donated a total of £800 towards the Scouts fund raising efforts.
Whilst at the
Jamboree the guys will take part in a number of activity modules with an
emphasis on sport, art and culture, including:
-
Tournament – This module will involve a series of activities including rock climbing, orienteering,
and team challenges.
-
Face The Waves – As the site is near the beach, they will be
encouraged to participate in sailing, rowing, windsurfing, and beach volleyball, football, and swimming.
-
Crossroads of Culture – To experience different cultures from around the world, by taking part in activities such as performing arts, music,
visual arts, and traditional sports and pastimes.
-
Community Service - All Scouts will take part in a community service project during their
stay in Thailand.
Each of the eight Contingent members are extremely grateful for this very generous
donation.
