Republic of China (Taiwan) - 8 January to 11 January
Members of the Surrey Contingent 1 (Alex, Chris, Dan, Jez,
Kieran and Steve) will head off to Taiwan after they leave the Jamboree. Here
they will spend time living with local Scouting families and learn about their
country, culture and Scouting in Taiwan.
The contingent will be staying in a Keelung City (pronounced
Chilung) on the NE coast of Taiwan. It is the third largest container port in Taiwan, with a population of approximately 385,000. It is a prosperous city with rolling green hillsides overlooking the city, but also has the reputation of being one of the wettest parts of Taiwan in the winter, just like home then!
Details of exactly what
they will get up to are not yet finalised. To find out more about Taiwan follow
