Robert (Rob) - 1st Byfleet

Rob - 1st ByfleetWhen I went on the selection day and saw the amount of good scouts that were there I realised it was going to be tough. So when I got the phone call at the end of the day telling me I was going to the Jamboree I was over the moon. I was so happy that I had been picked but I was also surprised, I was sure I was going to be rejected. I know how fortunate I am and how much the trip will benefit me through meeting and learning about other people from other cultures around the world.

A bit about me

I was born and have lived in Byfleet all my life. I am a keen computerist and hope one day to make my break in computing. I am currently studying for my GCSE's in Art, History and Resistant Materials (D.T.) at Fullbrook School in New Haw. I enjoy watching football, my favourite team is Chelsea.

I have been through a lot, I have had major surgery on my back which has given me trouble over the years.

My scouting CV

Beaver Scout and Cub Scout - I was not able to attend because of the problems with my back.

Scout  - I am currently a member of the best troop, 1st Byfleet.
I am a APL (Assistant Patrol Leader) and am enjoying learning about Scouting.

I attended Interlink in October 2001 and really enjoyed it. The Jamboree will be even better!
