Chris Ellis - ADC Scouts, Woking District
My scouting life started about 20 years ago when I attended a Dads and Lads camp (that's not counting the two weeks I spent as a Cub Scout, many many years ago).
I saw the light, as they say, and was soon helping out in the 1st Horsell Scout Troop as an ASL. A year later I became Scout Leader, a duty of love that lasted until Christmas 2001, when I felt it was
finally time to move on.
Over the years I have spent a great deal of my time advising on the integration of special needs into Scouting and am a member of the County Special Needs Team. I have also tutored on leader training courses and been a District Scout Leader for about ten years.
After all this, I know find myself ADC Scouts in Woking, working with another super team of leaders and trying not to be a poacher turned game keeper!
In 1997 I was selected to go to the World Scout Jamboree in Chile. I know you have probably heard it before, but it really was an experience of a lifetime, so to get the opportunity to go again is just unbelievable. We will have a ball take my word for
