Alex - 1st Brookwood

Alex - 1st BrookwoodLike Mike, I was selected as a reserve. After the District selection weekend I felt that there could be a high chance of me going, as I was told that the reserves last time had been given places. However when the phone call came it was still a shock. I immediately jumped at it, knowing it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The opportunity of meeting Scouts from all over the world, make friends with people that donít even speak my language and then get to travel the area and find out about their true culture and way of life is absolutely amazing.

A bit about me

I am half way through studying for my GCSEís at Winston Churchill School. When not scouting or beavering away (pardon the pun) at my schoolwork I am a sporting guy. I play rugby for my school, my club (Chobham), Surrey County and Harlequins Senior Academy. I also swim, do gymnastics and play some casual football with my mates.

I like my music and am currently into rock music but also enjoy jazz and some easy listening tracks. I play the alto and tenor saxophone, the piano and guitar. When Iím not busy doing that I usually relax with friends, although now itíll be fundraising time!!
